Food and beverage is an industry sector in which our consultants have substantial experience having provided consultancy services to it for many years. We also have a great deal of experience and knoweldge working in the distilling and drinks industry - particularly the Whisky industry, having supported the worlds largest alcholic drinks maker in many different ways over many years.

Les is now based in Scotland so he is now once again perfectly placed to pick up where he left off working with the alcholic drinks distillers and brewers he has worked with in the past...

Another industry sector in which we can support major clients in, is Packaging and Paper. We have considerable experience and knowledge in packaging manufacturing machinery such as corrugators and paper converting machines, with our consultants having provided consultancy services to two of the largest European packaging manufacturers.

We also have substantial knowledge in packaging machinery itself with our consultants having assessed many machines and production lines over the years, and with Les having perviously written a training course on EN ISO 415 which is the ‘type C’ standard for packaging machines.

We have very strong links to the paper making industry with Jim Davis – Jim spent over 20 years in the paper making and packaging manufacturing industry, and our Non Executive Technical Director Bill Raine is highly experienced in paper making machinery assessment. We can also draw on the knowledge of several former engineering and maintenance people from the paper making and packaging manufacturing industry who we have strong relationships with – each with over 20 plus years experience in this sector.

When it comes to Recycling and Energy from Waste, we are highly experienced in this sector having worked with the UK's leading Recycling and Energy from Waste provider in the UK exclusively for the last fours years as well as other major recycling providers... Over the last four years we have assessed and certified many recycling plants and all of the Energy from Waste sites of the UK leader in this sector for them as one of our key clients.

The UK automotive sector is a key UK industry and over the years our consultants have provided consultancy services to most of the key UK car manufacturers and their tier one and two ‘just in time’ suppliers. In addition to this, Les successfully created and delivered a bespoke machinery safety training course aimed at nearly two hundred front line maintenance technicians at one of the UK’s leading car manufacturers.

All of our consultants have extensive knowledge of the car manufacturing industry and the machinery used within it, as well as the critical need to maintain the 24/7 manufacturing and production rates.

Our consultants have substantial experience in metalworking and cutting machinery. With most metalworking machines such as press brakes, guillotines, and presses being subject to a ‘type C’ standard, compliance to these standards to provide the right levels of operator safety is critical, and we often find that many older metalworking machines are not as safe as they could or should be.

With a seventeen year history in medical critical care and life support field before coming into the machinery safety sector – the pharmaceutical and medical industry is close to Les’s heart… So from wound dressings and medicines to the manufacturing of medical consumables and pharmaceutical products, this is an industry sector we are very happy to support clients in and have done so very successfully for many years. This has also included the provision of consultancy work for complex production line upgrades and the upgrade and relocation of a key production line for a major wound dressing manufacturer.

One of our specilaities is the machinery and processes for the manufacture of contact lenses and associated products, where we look after a major US based global manufacturer of these products across their sites in Europe

We have considerable knowledge in the manufacture of undersea umbilical’s and cables with Les having carried out consultancy work for three of the main manufacturers of these umbilicles in the North East of England and Scotland.

This type of manufacturing and assembly machinery is similar to metalworking machinery in as much as it is very capable of causing life changing injuries – so comprehensive assessment and hazard identification along with provision of the right level of safety on the machinery is once again critical.
